SHAPE PT was started in 2022 by physical therapists Lisa Corken, PT, DPT and Sarah Rottler, PT, DPT.
SHAPE PT differs from traditional physical therapy in that our aim is to provide you continuous care for whatever current shape your body is in - continuous because our bodies and activities are ever-changing. We want your body to keep up with you whether it Sustaining the current shape, Healing, Achieving a new goal, Preventing injury, or Excelling.
Who is SHAPE?
SHAPE PT was started by Sarah and Lisa - two moms with little kids living in Broomfield and wanting to give back to the community. We met in 2013 working in an insurance-based model outpatient orthopedic clinic. We have grown to understand the profession inside and out and believe that SHAPE PT can offer you services above and beyond what conventional physical therapy can. Our one-on-one hour long sessions are designed for the motivated person who understands the value of physical therapy, the value of their own time, and the value of the one body they get in this life.

WHO ARE WE?
-
Lisa Corken, PT,DPT
Lisa has been working in outpatient orthopedics since 2013 with all patient ages, injuries and activity levels. Her passion lies in injury prevention and movement efficiency. She wants you to be strong in the way your body wants to move and only changes your form if absolutely necessary. She takes every individual case and combines lifetime history with a physical exam to provide you the hands on care you need and the exercises that will help you keep doing the things you love whether it is running, cycling, climbing, or whatever Colorado has to offer.
Lisa lives in Broomfield with her husband and three kids. They love cycling in the summer, skiing in the winter, and playing every sport possible. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, went to Indiana University for her Bachelors in Exercise Science and then graduated from Northwestern University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013. She moved to Colorado right after graduation.
Lisa’s continuing education has included certifications in Level I and II Dry Needling, running analysis, vestibular training, manual therapy and more. She loves working with the motivated client and truly invests her knowledge, time, and expertise to achieve whatever goals you have in mind. Her favorite cases are the “unsolvable” because she absolutely loves puzzles. She will not only help alleviate your acute impairments, but find you simple routines and adjustments to reduce them from recurring. Her passion truly is client education about their own anatomy and how their body works

Sarah Rottler, PT,DPT
Sarah completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in 2012 at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She has worked in outpatient orthopedics since graduating and has treated a multitude of injuries. She truly takes a hands on approach with all patients and understands that no two patients are alike. She believes that a combination of manual therapy and exercise program are the keys to being successful in prevention or recovery. She personally has had multiple orthopedic surgeries and fully understands what it takes to get back to 100%. Her main focus is getting patients back to their goals, whether that is to backcountry ski, run a 5K, get off the floor to play with their kids or just prevent injuries.
Sarah has completed multiple continuing education courses over the last 10 years and is certified in Functional Dry Needling Level 1 & 2. Sarah is now offering pelvic floor physical therapy! She completed her Level 1 Pelvic Floor Certification through Herman and Wallace Institute. She is qualified to treat all women’s health conditions especially pregnancy-related pain, postpartum, return to activity, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain and pelvic organ prolapse.
Sarah is originally from Rhode Island but has been living in CO for the last 9 years. Sarah currently lives in Broomfield with her husband, 3 kids and their 2 dogs. They love to ski, hike, bike, run and enjoy as much of the CO sun as they can.
What To Expect
Our one-hour one-on-one sessions will include a thorough history, discussion of your current and desired activity, assessment of your body’s flexibility and strength, hands-on care to address limitations and a prescribed home exercise routine targeting motor control specific to your goals. In-between sessions you will have access to us via email for exercise progression, tips on healing, or any other questions you might have.
Why would I go out of network?
Traditional physical therapy, the insurance-model, is limited to when you are injured and even then only allows them to work with you to achieve basic functional goals: think getting dressed, getting up from a chair, or washing your back in the shower. Unlike traditional physical therapy, you don’t have to be injured to start at SHAPE PT. We aim to emphasize and treat whatever SHAPE your body is in to achieve the individual goals that YOU have - not the goals set by your insurance. Since insurance does not cover these treatments, SHAPE PT is a cash-based practice. However, upon request, SHAPE PT can provide a superbill for you to submit to your private insurance for reimbursement.
FAQs
Do you take insurance?
SHAPE PT is an out of network provider and does not take insurance. Upon request, SHAPE PT can provide you documentation for you to submit to your private insurance for reimbursement if your plan covers out-of-network providers. Payment for your session is due at time of service.
Where are you located?
SHAPE PT works out of a private residence in central Broomfield. It is not ADA accessible.
What should I wear?
For your first appointment, please wear or bring comfortable clothes so we can easily access the body part to be treated (ie. shorts if working on knee, tank top if working on shoulder)
